Tangkula Wall Mounted Desk, Floating Desk with Chalkboard

I purchased this desk for my great Neice due to the limited bedroom space. There were some screws missing, but after contacting the company for assistance everything worked out perfectly!

Cheap desk option for small space

Little bit of a pain to put together. 2 major complaint is the screws are undersized for the predrilled holes and tend to fall out.

Cute but not complete

Came out really cute and nice but it was a little hard to put together, there was missing pieces and broken pieces but luckily I had most of the screws I needed at home.

Missing pieces ,holes in wrong places ,had to go buy screws and an bracket. Takes 2 people to put it together and to try and hang. Smhh

Pleasantly Surprised

Following the instructional sketches closely and the predrilled holes makes the assembly very straight forward. The clearly marked panels and sealed hardware are easy to work with. Attached to wall after holding it against the wall and making sure the fold out leg was nice and flat on the floor then drilled for the anchor locations.

It was easy

I am not the handiest person. But this was easy to assemble. The instructions is simular to Ikea which to me is easy. I wanted to add my own touch so I applied contact paper to the background and table surface. It took a while though to put this together since I am doing this all by myself. Got this so I can use this in my small salon studio room that save space. I haven't hunged it up yet. I plan on putting a mouth underneath it though to secure it. Also I painted the silver hardware black to make it look more seamless. I used nail polish and top coat. Works great.

Great desk. With a few suggestions.

I found this desk relatively easy to assemble. This can be a one person build, if you attach the "door/table" portion after you hang the shelf portion first. The "door" adds considerable weight. I'm fairly petite with pencil crayon arms (minimal upper body strength) and I had no problems. A couple of other suggestions;

Perfect!!!!!

I love this desk. Took my boyfriend a couple of hours to install it. I enjoy that I can fold it up and away when not in use. The chalkboard is an added perk. It fits into a small space perfectly. I recommend this desk.

Love the function, hated the assembly

Firstly, putting the top shelving unit together was a breeze. I've done many so that part was easy. Every piece & bags of screws, etc. was clearly labeled. The hair pulling, loose your sanity and frustrating part was assembling the desktop and leg. You will need to turn it on its side snd have a 3/4 thick support to put under the desk part when attaching the two together. The desktop is narrower than the support leg as it fits inside the shelving unit. I did everything myself except mount on the wall. Hold up the unit to the wall, pull down the desk/leg then use a level as yoy put a little weight. Check both the desk and top of the cabinet. Use a narrow drill bit to fit in the holes to the wall. We couldn't find any marking tool that would fit and go through to the wall. Now fold it up and take down the unit. Do not use the support anchors that come with it, they are not secure. Use the blue anchors that spread and better metal screws that fit. The scres they provide weren't metal and will probaby break. The hardest part for me was the locking braces. One had flipped the opposite way and i didn't realize it flipped back. Put the desktop and leg together before you try to attach to the shelves. Make sure hardware installed in the right direction. The cabinet swing hinge is thin, not solid. It's working for now, you will have to order online, can't find replacement of better quality in stores.

Challenging to install

There's nowhere in the instructions on how high to install the hardware so it took a while to get it measured and set up. Also had to jerry rig a way to hold it up as I installed it. Once it was up though it works like a charm.

Nice little shelf desk

A nice shelf desk, which can be put up to make way for people staying the room, but then can convert back to office. If you're looking for a full desk, then you probably need a room with some space. But if you're looking for a space saver desk that's functional, then this is a good one.

I use this as my makeup table in my shop. I really want to get one for home too.
